SITAR

The sitar is modern interpretation for an ancient instrument.
The sitar originates from persia and it is an ancient instrument which is rooted in the culture of the persian people and has a history of many years.
I had chosen to give it a modern development.
The sitar i had designed is similar to the original by its form yet has some design changes meant to make the instrument more accessible to more musician and so to introduce it to the public.
I had chosen to make it more accessible by changing the materials, the sitar is made of plastic in an injection technique that supports mass production.
The many openings in the instrument body are from islamic patterns in mosques and relates the instrument to the culture it came from, and also widens the range of sounds by further opening the body.
The Sitar is intended for every string player.
